What are IPR MicroCredentials?

MicroCredentials are certifications indicating proficiency in a specific skill or a small set of skills. They are focused, shorter than traditional degree programs, and offered online. 

Are IPR MicroCredentials recognized by employers?

Yes, many employers recognize and value MicroCredentials, especially when they are relevant to the job or industry. They are often seen as evidence of continuous learning and keeping skills up-to-date. 

How long does it take to obtain a MicroCredential?

MicroCredential learning journeys are self-paced, however, once enrolled in a course you must finish within 30 days. Participants can expect to spend ~10 hours engaging with content prior to completion. 

Do IPR MicroCredentials help career advancement?

MicroCredentials can assist in career advancement by demonstrating to current or potential employers that you have specific, up-to-date skills. They can be particularly useful for acquiring new skills in rapidly evolving fields or for making a career change. 

How much do IPR MicroCredentials cost?

IPR MicroCredentials are $149 dollars. Current students, recent graduates (within 6 months), Veterans, teachers, and emergency service professionals are eligible for a 30% discount. 

Will I receive continuing education credits?

MicroCredentials are equivalent to 10 continuing education credits (CECs) or professional development units (PDUs). Make sure to check with your organization to confirm IPR MicroCredential acceptance. 

What will I receive upon MicroCredential completion?

Those who complete the necessary steps to obtain a MicroCredential will receive a badge to display on their public profiles and their email signatures, a certificate of completion, and their name will be housed in our MicroCredential Verification Database.
